Thierry Henry will make his Barcelona bow during the Catalan club's pre-season tour of Scotland later this week.
Manager Frank Rijkaard confirmed that the former Arsenal striker will play a part in the matches against Dundee United on Thursday July 26th and Heart of Midlothian on Saturday 28th after safely negotiating his first squad training session with Barca yesterday morning.
Rijkaard said simply: "He will play some minutes."
Henry has been out of action since March with various injuries, but resumed light training last week and joined up with his new Barca team-mates on Saturday as the club's summer break officially came to an end.
Rijkaard said Henry, 29, was "physically fine and free of injury."
The ?16.1m French striker, who scored a club record 226 goals for Arsenal in 364 appearances, will thus begin his four-year Barcelona stint by featuring for at least part of the games against Dundee United at Tannadice on Thursday and Hearts - in front of a 40,000-plus crowd at Murrayfield - in Edinburgh two days later.
Barcelona are planning to take a strong squad to Scotland for the two high-profile friendlies.
