Duke Dijinero's Guide to Clinkz, The Bone Fletcher

Duke Dijinero's Guide to
the Bone Fletcher!!
Introduction :
Hello Pakistanis out there, im here with a guide written by ME on the bone
fletcher. First of all, id like to say that this guide is my own work.
This has to be the only second real guide in warcraftpk.com, because all others are completely copy pasted. if u guys really have to copy-paste, then please say  that u have and give the link or something.

Ok, back to the topic.
Clinks is an amazingly good hero in many ways, he used to be my favourite hero and once upon a time I refused to take anything else.
Noobs, pros and semis, all can play with him.
i havent seen anyone take him yet in the pakistani ggc rooms, but i have once or twice.
the thing is, clinks is not really suited for the games in pakistani room, where games last no longer than 20min unless ultimate123 or greenhorn hosts.
Clinks’ real potential comes mid-late game, if the player has farmed well, because he can take down heroes and towers within seconds, wind walking providing the element of backstabbing.

Introduction to the clinkz :
The fire that kindles eternally on the visage of the fallen Elven Archer proves to others that his undeath was a mere genesis. Clinkz seeks perfection in the arts of fletching and never hesitates in sacrificing his own allies for the cause. Still retaining his ability to move with the wind, he is ready to slay the enemy officers with his swiftness and precision in archery. The Fletcher fires arrows that scorch the target with the heat of the Underworld, bringing them closer and closer to their peril. An elvish archer in life, a nightmare in death.
Statistics =
Range: 600 | | Move Speed: 300 | Primary: AGI
Str: 15 + 1.6 | Agi: 22 + 3 | Int: 16 + 1.55
Damage: 37 - 43 | HP: 435 | Mana: 208
HP Regen: 0.7 | Mana Regen: 0.65
Attack Speed: 1.33 (+ 22% IAS) | Armor: 2.1
Pros and Cons (a.k.a advantages and disadvantages):
Pros :
  1.He is an excellent farmer
  2.Has an escape ability
  3.Has a backstabbing ability
4.High Attack increase and attack speed increase per level
5.Three of his abilities, when timed right, can be used in a deadly combo
6.He has an auto-castable ability, meaning that he is one of the few heroes who can do orb-walking.

Cons :
1.He has a low base health and health increase.
2.He can easily be countered and screwed up by disables and true sight
3.His whole game is almost totally dependent on his first three abilities
4.His first three abilities are totally dependent on his low manapool
5.His Ulti sucks, and it just simply sucks.

Abilities :

Strafe

Fire a large number of arrows in a short time period.
Lasts 10 seconds.

Level 1 - 20% increased attack speed.
Level 2 - 40% increased attack speed.
Level 3 - 60% increased attack speed.
Level 4 - 80% increased attack speed.

Cooldown: 30 seconds.
Level 1-4: 90 mana, 30 sec cooldown.

Strafe is a useful ability. It provides a nice shitload of attack speed, the main thing with this is to make sure u can use it to its fullest extent. If you know you're going to have to stop firing because of a disable, or if you know you wont be able to plainly fire off many arrows, its useless, so dont go for it.
NEVER try to orb-walk if u have strafe on, its not as effective. Orb-walking is for early-early game, and strafe isn't.

Searing Arrows

Increases the damage of the Hero's attack by adding fire. If you learn this during wind walk the first time, you will lose the invisibility.

Level 1 - 10 bonus damage.
Level 2 - 20 bonus damage.
Level 3 - 30 bonus damage.
Level 4 - 40 bonus damage.

Cooldown: 4/3/0/0 seconds.

Level 1   : 8 mana, 4 sec cooldown.
Level 2   : 8 mana, 3 sec cooldown.
Level 3-4: 8 mana, 0 sec cooldown.

This is Clinkz' Bread and Butter skill, His trademark, which makes him kick ass.
Searing arrows are an amazing skill, low manacost just 8mp for +40dmg. its very easy to farm with clinkz then, just roam around the creeps, with the alt button on, the second u see some creep with critical hp, press "r" and click on the said creep. While Farming, oh crap, ill discuss that later.

Wind Walk

Turn invisible for a period of time, increasing movement speed.

Level 1 - 7% increased movement speed, 20 seconds.
Level 2 - 14% increased movement speed, 25 seconds.
Level 3 - 21% increased movement speed, 30 seconds.
Level 4 - 28% increased movement speed, 35 seconds.

Cooldown: 20 seconds.

All Levels : 75 mana, 20 sec cooldown.

The wind walk, a great skill, the one that attracts noobs and pros worldwide. Good use for backstabbing, escaping, or just moving faster. The difference between gondar's ww and clinkz' ww is gondar has backstab damage while this has a movement speed bonus, which, with treads gives 467ms, a nice shitload of ms (while windwalking). A thing abbout windwalking, is NEVER to break it unless you are completely sure you are in no danger, and if it comes, u will have the cooldown completed.

Death Pact

Kills a target friendly unit, returning a percentage of its life.

Level 1 - 55% conversion.
Level 2 - 95% conversion.
Level 3 - 135% conversion.

Cooldown: 20 seconds.

Level 1: 120 mana, 20 sec cooldown.
Level 2: 200 mana, 20 sec cooldown.
Level 3: 280 mana, 20 sec cooldown.

This abiltiy really really sucks. I personally think that so much mana for so less hp isnt really worth it.take it after you have levelled up your 3 main abilities and some stats. By that time, your creeps should give you more hp, as they themselves have more later on. Clinkz will have a high manapool late-game too.He always has an escape ability, and his ulti doesnt really give him more advantage till late game.

Finally the ablities are done discussing!
Now to the item build and Skill Build.

Skill Build
Level 1.Wind Walk
Level 2.Searing Arrows
Level 3.Searing Arrows
Level 4.Strafe
Level 5.Searing Arrows
Level 6.Strafe
Level 7.Searing Arrows
Level 8.Strafe
Level 9.Strafe
Level 10.Wind Walk
Level 11.Wind Walk
Level 12.Wind Walk
Level 13.Stats
Level 14.Death Pact
Level 15.Death Pact
Level 16.Death Pact
Level 17-25.Stats

Explanation to skill build :
Wind walk at level 1 is necessary, because you should always be prepared to survive a gank. Searing Arrows for farming, Harassing, and Orb-Walking, so it should be maxed up earliest.
Strafe should be maxed up next, even though you dont have enough damage early to use it to its fullest extent, it is useful. The two stats before maxing your ulti can save ur life with some extra hp.

Item Build :
This whole part is completely up to you, Im just gona give you some pointers here.
Okay.... so you just started a game. its -ar, and you randomed clinkz.
You remembered Duke Dijinero's guide about clinkz! What did he say about the item build?......
You have close to 750g.There are many things you can do.
1.Buy boots, 3 tangos and off you go. (mostly for pakistani noobagames.)
2.Buy two gauntlets, three tangos, and observer wards (for sligtly semi games)
3.Buy one Gauntlet, three ironwood branches, three tangos and achicken (for more proish games)
Explanation
(1) is because in noobgames, you dont get much harassing, and there is not much of a need of the extra strength and the boots will let u chase those noobs to death. No observer wards are needed because the ganks here are poorly co-ordinated and wind walk will get you out of these.
(2) is because you might get harassed alot buy the int heroes, and the observer wards because you will be targeted and ganked a lot. In the semi games nobody bothers to buy observers, so u will have to protect yourselves a lot.
(3) Even though i havent seen anyone buy observers in the paki ggc room, there is always a good teammate here to buy wards, and that is not really clinkz's responsibility. The ironwood branches are for some extra hp ad the "ofggg, that bc clinkz got a way with 1 hp!!!)
There's the early-game item build.
Next time come home and finish the 2 bracers and power treads of strength (in a total, adding 418hp) for the hp, but if its a nooby game, then justmake agility treads, itll be better.
after that, you can choose you item build youreself! just pay attention to my Yes-yeses and No-Nos below.

1.DPS items (damage-per-second increasing items)
Yes-Yeses
Buriza (6200g)

Nice damage increase, the 20% crits lets you get insane damage dealt in a small time with strafe on. On the other hand, this item is extremely expensive, and MKB is much better as a first-dps-item.

Monkey King Bar (5400g)

+75 damage, now with 2 javelins, meaning that it isnt made up of the two worst damage-per-gold items in the game anymore. This is much easier to make for clinkz, and with his fast attack speed, that 30% comes a lot.

No-nos
Butterfly (6250)

B-fly on clinkz is not really great, its much better to waste so much money on some survivability items or MKB/Buriza. It is still an option, though.

Radiance (5325)

Oh, please, god, no. The number of times i have seen this on clinkz in the euro rooms makes me want to cry. It completely messes up clinkz' ability to stalk behind enemy lines, its an item which reveals you to the enemy, and all they have to do is keep some sentries with them, the second they feel the heat, they put it on the ground, and kill you.

Bashers (5325)

Bashers on ranged heroes are just plain silly. I know that the fast attack speed of clinkz can trigger off a lot off bashes, but the money is not worth it, and you have much better items to buy.

Stygian Desolater (4410g)

Making orb-effects on clinkz is worthless, he already has one. It will really throw is attack off-track.

Maelstorm/Mjollnir (3360g/6670g)

Same thing when it comes to orb-effects.

Divine Rapier (7800g)

Since the demise of the dr. aegis build, divine has really become rare. It is an amazingly high risk, especially as you can get no more than 3 aegis's in the whole game

2.Survivability items

Bloodstone (5075g)

A relatively -ok- item, the hp is usefull, but clinkz doesnt need that much mana and regeneration

Hood Of Defiance (2350g)

A useful item if you are facing terribly consistent nukers on the enemy team, you can buy a RoR in the beginning (or two, but i dont recommend that) and get a helm of iron will from a shop in the corners. The regen is especially useful, nd is great against the Poisonous Ones.

Linkens sphere (5350g)

Linkens sphere is a very useful item, gives everything clinkz needs. Mana for ability spamming, strength for hp, agility for damage, and annoying others by blocking there first spell. remember the speel has to be targeted, an AOE spell wont be blocked.

Black King Bar (3800g)

Oh, please, no. It sucks, just 10 seconds for magic immunity? and 3800g?!? I have seen some idiots buy this just because they are playing against a sand king, and when he comes, they remember to activate it after they die.

Heart Of Tarrasque (5500g)

Buy this Only if you have been getting plonked by enemy heroes who can kill u even when you are windwalking. It gives you 1000hp extra, and a shitload of hp regeneration.

Sange and Yasha (5100g)

I never buy Sange and Yasha. The reason is that its too expensive just for 16 agi and strength and a slow + a little more ms. It does have a lot of benefits, but those benefits are small.

Vanguard (2275g)

A cheap and effective health and survivability option for you. I recommend this on clinkz, it really is a good item.

3.Movement speed Items

Treads (1850g) Vs. Travel (2700g)
Vs.

Treads are much better on clinkz than travel. Lets Compare the advantages :
treads :
65ms
30% Attack Speed
+10 any stat
Travel :
85ms
teleport
treads are much beter on clinkz than travel, it is 850g less, more profits.

4.Miscellaneous items
No-Nos
Mekansm (2434g)

A heal? For 250hp? People, people, just take one level of deathpact if you really wnat it so much. there is no sense for making this when you already have a low manapool.

MoM (1950g)

Lol, i dont think i should even add this, but, i have actually seen some noobs make this in euro rooms. It Doesnt Stack with strafe, it doesnt stack with searing arrows, do you even need another reason?

Hand of midas (1950g)

It should only be taken if you are having trouble farming. Otherwise, its going to take you 20 minutes for you to farm up the money you have lost from making midas.

actually mjolnir is pretty good as it boosts you with decent damage, 35% attack speen bonus and with your strafe youll be chain lightning  A LOT. and i know its an orb effect but searing arrows will only not be casted when lightning is triggered. I think we all agree that 40 dmg is inferior to 200 dmg chain lightning. Also the ability is quite useful too since you will be targetted

"5.His Ulti sucks, and it just simply sucks." lol @ you. It's a great way to stay in a lane and not-to-mention you can gain upto 800 hp late game from a single use. It isn't meant to be spammed due to the high mana cost, but it much more useful as a survival skill.

You obviously havent read my whole guide fully.
It is true if you have some allies such as Harbinger or KotL to refresh your manapool, and you are also sucking up a lot of harassing/nuking damage, it might be worthwhile to get it, but the fact remains that clinkz is NOT a hero who is supposed to take damage.
It also doesnt synchronize with his other spell, the wind walk. For a hero who can run under invisibility, a heal isn't something that synchronizes.
the heal also takes up too much mana, it slows down your levelling up the better abilities.
But anyway Thanks to the constructive critisicm. Finally a reply.
