Prologue: The Post

It was early in the morning. There was a gentle and yet chill breeze going on. The roads and houses were covered with snow. White flakes were everywhere making the scene more pleasant. Heavy clouds have filled the skies and there were signs of more snow to follow.

All this cold weather seemed nothing to the postman. He was not even wearing proper warm cloths. Carrying many heavy parcels, he was on his way riding his bicycle. The badge on his uniform read a name “Davion”. He was busy whistling and moving forwards, not noticing the dangerous looking climatic conditions.

It was a large city - Home to many species. Its name was Lost Angels (L.A). A wanderer may meet humans, elves, dwarves, trolls, giants, ogres and even furbolgs here. The city was exceptionally advanced in technological terms. The fact that even an ogre could use a computer is saying something.

This was the last month of the year. Christmas was coming near and the duties of the Postman were getting tougher. People kept sending heavy packages to their loved ones and Davion tried to do his duty honestly.

Today his first stop was a bar. The local bartender had apparently got someone caring for him too much. His parcel was wrapped up very nicely and weighed almost 2 pounds.

When Davion reached the “Walking Nights”, he stopped. Noticing a many eyed security troll looking him suspiciously, he quickly clarified. “Postman Sir! I have a parcel for Mr. Aggron”.

The troll allowed Davion to go inside.

The bar was pleasantly warm. Not many customers were there. Davion went straight to the bartender to ask about Mr. Aggron.

“That funny bloke? He is there on your right”, answered an old looking elf.

Davion turned to look at a strange fellow. Mr. Aggron was an Ogre. But to add to his already bizarre appearance, he had two heads.

Davion tried to concentrate on his duties and stated in a businesslike matter.

“Here is your parcel Sir. Please take it and sign the receipt.”

“My Parcel! Oh that’s interesting”, said one head of Mr. Aggron.

“No no no. I am not taking it. It may be dangerous”, said the other.

“I have got a package for the first time and you are jealous?”, angrily asked the first head to the other.

”What? Sent to you? Are you crazy? It must have been sent to me. I am more honorable than you anyway”, replied the second head.

Davion was simply startled. He had never expected something like this to happen. He interrupted the continuously fighting heads of Mr. Aggron and said.

“Please sign the receipt Sir, I need to go elsewhere too”.

Mr. Aggron signed the paper and Davion left.

Today’s show was looking brilliant from the start. It seemed like every single soul had come to the arena. This was a special show arranged on excessive public demands.

The world’s most renowned artist was going to show his skills today. The stage was decorated with lights of every color. Artificial smoking chamber, digital sound systems and cameras were all set.

Today Mangix was going to show his Break-Dance.

He was an exceptionally talented guy. Originally a Panda, he had trained himself in this field for about 15 years. His show was always popular and he himself was the trend setter in dancing.

When Mangix prepared himself for the show in his dressing room, he noticed a box - Nicely wrapped in a colorful paper with his name written on top of it. Mangix was used to for an excess of fan mails. But no one had yet sent him a parcel so appealing. He wanted to look its contents, but then he would be late for the show.

Overcoming his curiosity, Mangix made his way to the stage with heavy clapping and cheers from the crowd.

The suburbs of Lost Angels were home to many poor families. Although humans and elves did not prefer this place but many Ogres and Trolls could be found there. This week’s attraction was a circus.

Not providing extraordinarily exciting items, still this circus was gaining popularity - The prime reason being an act performed by a Ninja.

Gondar had been trained by a Ninja Clan for many years. After the training he found his earning to be difficult so he joined this circus. He would throw shurikens so powerful that they penetrate through the obstructions easily.

This was usually the viewer’s most loved act in the whole circus.

Gondar was busy preparing for the act in his tent when a guard came near him.

“This has just come for you, Mr. Gondar!”, said the guard handling a wrapped packet to him.

Gondar had never got anything posted to him before. He wanted to know about the sender but no one was mentioned. In his urge to know what’s inside, he quickly opened the package.

It was a busy day for Davion. He had almost finished delivering the posts and only one parcel remained. Davion picked it up to know his new destination. Surprisingly enough, this package was sent to him. A box wrapped with colorful paper weighing 2 pounds and addressed to the postman himself.

Davion was amazed. His family was not very big and he knew no one who might be sending him something for this Christmas. Davion tried to feel the contents of the package. It looked as if a book is wrapped inside.

Davion then hastily rode his bicycle to go home and see the contents of package at his earliest.
